What is DECA?
DECA is a Marekting Club that brings marketing students from all over the world together to compete. It allows students to learn about how the business world works before leaving high school.
All competitions consist of a 100 question test and a role play. A role play is a business situation in which you and the judge are given roles and you're asked to solve the business problem at hand. You use your marketing knowledge to create a brief solution to present to the judge.
DECA inspires students to continue their education and work towards a career in marketing. DECA improves students' self-confidence and prepares them for the future. Interviews, proper business etiquette, and communication skills are all areas that are strengthened through participation in DECA. Students, even those who decide that business is not the field for them, are given the opportunity to network with fellow students on the regional, state, and international level.
We're excited you have joined MRHS DECA chapter! In DECA, you'll learn a lot more than just how to dress professionally. On your journey to becoming an entrepreneur, you'll learn valuable skills for the future, meet a diverse group of people, and have the time of your life at our fun-filled competitions (where you get to miss a little bit of school...). From social events such as The Bobcats Career Day to community service events such as the Rea View Elementary Fall Festival, DECA is much more than just a co-curricular organization; it's a lifestyle, and we are happy that you have chosen to be a part of it!
